Maria K @RT87028900 Aug 30, 2026 As a big fan of Bulgakov, who has been reading him since the age of 8 and spent many years living not far from his house in Moscow, I have to say that this is the best movie adaptation I have ever seen of the book. Moscow created in this movie, feels exactly the way Bulgakov's Moscow feels. If he were writing today, he would have written it this way. I also want to remind you that the book was written to expose tyranny and censorship in Stalin's USSR. Now, when it is in many ways even worse in Putin's Russia, the movie becomes just as relevant. And guess what? This movie is banned in Russia. See more Jon S @CheeHwaHwa Aug 20, 2026 This is NOT The Master and Margarita. This is essentially The Man Who Invented Christmas: Bulgakov Edition. They spent 2.5 hours ignoring almost everything that makes the original book one of Bulgakov’s smartest, wittiest, and most entertaining works. Instead, they spoon-feed you the deeper metaphors, strip away the magic and sarcastic humor, and force Bulgakov himself into the role of the Master. The one thing the movie has going for it is the beautiful cinematography and strong cast. It’s certainly a beautiful movie to look at. The good news is that if you haven’t already read the book, you haven’t really seen The Master and Margarita either, so you still have a chance to experience the story for the first time. See more Sara A @Sara1994 Jan 9, 2026 Such an incredibly entertaining movie, just as the book is. Be prepared for beauty, dark humor. The actor who played Master is H-O-T. Margarita is sexy as hell. Satan’s entourage thoroughly entertaining. Love this movie. See more Eva E @KikYu0 Aug 6, 2025 It's hard to describe, but damn, that was an awesome movie. I'm going to read the book now! Over and Out. See more Lanfranco C @Lanfrancobz Jun 22, 2025 To make a movie from this surreal roman is a big effort and I think that the production has been successful. It is better to read the book before, because the movie is a more articulated develop of it. See more Jasper M @RT48232706 May 10, 2025 It stays true to the book's message but departs from the original in very thoughtful and creative ways that make it even deeper, more meaningful and more relatable to the present-day situation in Russia and the world.
