The intertwined storylines work quite well. Gosling and Mendelsohn are the best part of the movie in my opinion, unfortunately, they share the screen together at the beginning. The latter half is not as compelling as the first.

Heavy, unexpected, and highly emotive. A good, if not great, piece of cinema. Lots of heavy hitters here. The young men are equivalently talented at holding the story and the characters in their places. Also, I have a weird man crush on Ryan Gosling and he does not disappoint as the brooding, troubled and violent young estranged father. It's also interesting to see the chemistry between him and Eva Mendes. Both such incredible actors! There's something very visceral about the way everyone is acting in this film... The characters and moments are so finely drawn, it just punches you somewhere between the solar plexus and gut. Amazing, classic movie in many ways, but understated at the same time. They don't seem to be making them like this any more, sadly.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
