If filmmakers use posters as a way of nodding to their influences, then the bar for The Rookies seems to be set especially low.

This movie looks you straight in the face. "I am going to take everything that a movie is and turn it to 11" and then turns it to 12, funny, bewildering, disorientating, beautiful. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Saw international stars featured and expected it to be good but the script and editing was confusing and made all of them look bad. Felt like a waste of my time watching this. Don’t waste yours.

Extrem schlechter China-Schrott, dessen Humor keiner lustig findet und dessen special Effects aussehen wie in Hollywood vor 10 Jahren. Reine Geldverschwendung. Extremely bad China junk, whose humor nobody finds funny and whose special effects look like in Hollywood 10 years ago. A waste of money.

The Rookies is a Chinese film that parodies spy action movies. Milla Jovovich kicks ass in the film, but she has a supporting role. The movie is so goofy, and the dubbed English is not great as usual, but it had some really funny scenes that had me laughing hard. The action is top-notch, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing it again.
