THE SALT PATH is the profound true story of husband and wife, Raynor and Moth Winn's 630-mile trek along the beautiful but rugged Cornish, Devon and Dorset coastline. After being forcibly removed from their home, they make the desperate decision to walk in the hope that, in nature, they will find solace and a sense of acceptance. With depleted resources, only a tent and some essentials between them, every step along the path is a testament to their growing strength and determination. THE SALT PATH is a journey that is exhilarating, challenging, and liberating in equal measure. A portrayal of home, how it can be lost and rediscovered in the most unexpected ways.

The beauty of nature (and the talented stars themselves), the reignition of their passion and the power of adversity to cleave them together make for a moving drama that sometimes slows to a trudge. But the love and scenery make it worth it after all.

So for all the committed acting and gorgeous green-and-pleasant-land scenery packed into the movie, its story might be worth taking with at least a grain of, well, you get the gist.

There’s something of the generosity of spirit and gentle humour of David Lynch’s The Straight Story in this celebration of the kindness of strangers, endurance of the spirit and the healing power of the wild.

Even if you are in it for the acting and because it is easier and cheaper than walking the path yourself, it will still feel a bit long and lacks connective tissue.

Slow but deeply moving, the film turns a story of hardship into a powerful portrait of love, acceptance, and resilience.

Even though one always questions the intent of The Salt Path’s creators throughout its running time, as a piece of fictionalized, reality adjacent feel good fare for the fifty-plus crowd one could do far worse.

It's a memoir. Acting is done well. Scenery is beautiful. Story lags a bit at times, but it's a good movie otherwise.

A rare treat amongst all the violence and unwanted language featured in too many movies. The story, characters, and scenery was wonderful. I'm always looking for adult movies that aren't about super heroes and villains which are not of interest either.

Compelling story & characters. Beautiful cinematography, fabulous soundtrack, well cast. Not a fan of profanity & it felt unnecessary & gratuitous.

Beautiful movie. Anderson and Isaacs are terrific together. If you’re looking for explosions, monsters, evil plot twists or super heroes then this isn’t or you. Otherwise, very thought provoking, true story about coping with the lemons that life throws at you.

Excellent film of finding one another and real "home" in the face of devasting loss of material things. Grand scenery and cinematography. Stellar, physically demanding lead roles.

It feels as though two thirds of the film consist entirely of close ups of Gillian Anderson looking sad.
