Baruchel commits to the trash-talking, egomaniacal persona Carter dragged out for show whenever a camera was on, but we never really know who this guy is. Go to Full Review

It’s a defining role for Baruchel, and he eats up every second of it. Go to Full Review

A strength of Baruchel’s performance is that he never makes Carter a clown. Go to Full Review

Baruchel is soulful and funny in the role of Carter, which helps, since the tone of the overall film is sustained frustration. Go to Full Review

Baruchel gives Carter an extra-gravy-on-your-fries Canadian accent, but he never turns Carter in a cartoon, playing both the insecurities and the blind spots of the man who wanted to be called the "Mad Canadian." Go to Full Review

The Stunt Driver is a classic tale of obsession at the cost of one’s soul, and one sort of wishes it went deeper than that fairly broad idea. Go to Full Review

Juan 4 hrs ago Thought it was going to be more comedic. It’s fine. It has moments that could be more impactful if the relationship between the characters were focused on more. It feels like we are speed running through the story. See more GuyFiery 1 day ago the Heart of this story and the acting by Kay and My en See more Bill Y 4 days ago Pleasant enough, but it could have been so much more. The movie leans heavy on Canadian Ken Carter's courage, or lack thereof, in pulling off an insane stunt. Because this is an "inspired by" movie, it had plenty of room to explore more themes. Heck, it made up Evel Knievel's "Everglades" speech just go for more drama. In the end you'll be wondering one thing, what ever happened to the American stunt driver, Kenny Powers. Check out Youtube, St Lawrence river jump. See more Craig P @CraigP579 16 hrs ago This movie was a very pleasant surprise! Very well done by Jay and lots of other good performances by others, I would recommend this movie! See more jesse v 22 hrs ago Take the movie Hot rod, take out the gaffs, put in more drama and aspirations, intertwine it with a comedy theme that's exactly like The Office, and you get this movie. it is strange how this movie is in scope cinematic ratio (black bars top and bottom) and the old camera is 4:3 (super large black bars on the side). it would have been better to be 16:9 instead. the actor that portrayed ken doesn't emote as much as the real life counterpart. It's odd how character movement from one location to another is not shown. The business manager really is just a one-note dynamite. there's no one to root for here exactly and time moves too quickly. how did ken get his sidekick back and where was the wife when the big jump happened?? See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 3 days ago Stunt Driver is a movie that made one major mistake: releasing in theaters. This is hands-down a streaming film. It simply does not have enough power, story, or development to hold its own in a theatrical window. I kept feeling like I was watching something that belonged at home rather than something that justified spending money to see on the big screen. The screenplay is bland, although there is a documentary-like feeling that gives the film some creativity and development. I liked that element, but it was not enough to keep me interested. I still found myself bored and wanting the movie to give me more. It needed stronger storytelling to make the experience feel worthwhile. I understand the movie is trying to build an audience and make back what it cost to produce, but this does not feel like a theatrical experience. Stunt Driver is much better suited for streaming. Do not waste your time or money seeing this in theaters. Wait until it is free on streaming. See more Read all reviews
