By the end, I had given myself over to the Hollywood veneer. Chicago 7 is a particularly shiny rendering of history, but Sorkin wisely places the focus on America's failings, even as he celebrates the people striving to fix them.

As with all things Sorkin, it takes liberties with the truth - this is not a film to watch in place of reading up on the history - but it's a damn good supplement for that history, and taken as a comment on our modern justice system.

Great movie. I remember these events. I even saw Rubin and Hoffman at a Phil Och's concert in the sixties. Ironic and sad that Ramsey Clark died on the day we saw the movie.

The movie, Chicago 7, is a very engaging drama based on true events. The stock footage really added to the credibility of the story. You really had to be paying attention as the movie moved along at a rapid fire pace, Aaron Sorkin signature style. Well worth seeing the story is relevant to the events happening today.
