It isn’t a deconstruction of the genre, it does repeatedly deny viewers the formulaic pleasures that it promises. Go to Full Review

Has a solid, suspenseful foundation coupled with a strong performance in Magnin. But with the way it meanders as straightforwardly as it does, coupled with an underdeveloped story, this psychological conspiracy thriller is nothing more than generic. Go to Full Review

The film doesn't reinvent the wheel...But The Truthers is a decent film for all audiences, whose greatest strength lies in its chosen subject matter. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The Truthers isn't a bad film, but it doesn't rise above the average of the many lackluster movies that Netflix produces and distributes to fill its catalog. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

ben F @BenFranz 4h I enjoyed it although it was alittle slow in the middle and came to a sudden conclusion, tied up some lose ends. They could have directed and edited this film to make it more suspenseful. See more David H @rivrocks 1d It just doesn't quite work. All the parts are there, it's just not put together right. The concept is solid. See more LAA A @LAA84 2d A crime and mystery film that keeps you hooked until the very end. The story is engaging, full of suspense, and leaves you guessing about the unfolding events. It’s a solid watch for fans of the genre. Scoring System (out of 2 per category): Story: 1.5/2 – Good, mysterious, keeps focus. Plot: 1/2 – Decent structure, but not flawless. Acting: 1/2 – Good performances, believable. Visuals/Atmosphere: 1/2 – Nice mood, fits the events. Enjoyment: 1.5/2 – Entertaining and gripping throughout. Final Score: 6/10 👉 A good mystery film with suspenseful storytelling and solid atmosphere. Not perfect, but definitely worth watching if you enjoy crime dramas. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jul 27 The Truthers is a foreign thriller that kept me more engaged than I expected. While it isn’t a perfect film, it delivers enough mystery and suspense to hold your attention from beginning to end. The story follows several characters whose lives gradually intertwine, with the father’s increasingly chaotic situation serving as the driving force behind the narrative. Although there are moments where the screenplay loses momentum and certain scenes don’t build the tension as well as they should, the film eventually finds its footing and becomes more engaging as it progresses. The performances are solid, and despite watching the dubbed version where the lip movements don’t match the dialogue, it never became distracting enough to take me out of the experience. Overall, The Truthers isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s a well-made foreign thriller with an interesting story, decent performances, and enough intrigue to make it worth watching. I would definitely recommend giving it a chance. See more Chazz M @Chazzee Jul 26 This is a profoundly disturbing film. Much scarier than any slasher film or many horror flicks. The reason is that it reflects a reality that is taking place right in front of our eyes. The ending is actually quite perfect in that regard, showing the encroaching, insidious danger that lies just beneath the surface of social and political life. The acting is great. The story line is taut and lean, making the unraveling mystery that much more impactful. It's interesting because at one point what you thought was true - and probably what you thought true from the beginning - comes into question and you begin question who is actually the one bordering on paranoia. I loved this film because it brings to light something that we are seeing in our lives but can't put our finger on because it's so close and taken for granted. The truth is hiding in plain sight. I find it significant that the truth is coming from a Spanish film. That might be a reflection of recent Spanish history.
