I really enjoyed it alot See more Ivan R @RT88443011 Sep 24, 2026 This movie was not enjoyable to watch at all. A lot of things made no sense, and it kinda played like a childrens movie not what it was advertised as See more Listed M @Listed.MIA Sep 20, 2026 I take no 13 Ghosts slander. It's phenomenal in its simplicity. Storyline is fun and Matt Lillard's performance is perfection. See more Alex B @AlexBioni Sep 14, 2026 2000s B Movie at Its Finest. This is another one of those movies I try to watch every year during spooky season. The blood and violence are there and they're great. One scene in particular involves a character and a sliding glass wall. My God, that is one of a kind. I like the cast a lot, and anytime Matthew Lillard is in a movie, I'm in. All the ghosts have their own personal look that matches their personalities, and the costuming and makeup look great. The plot is so over the top and not realistic at all, and that's why we watch movies! The production and sets are freaking awesome, from the junkyard to the maze house. Everything is designed so well. I also like the opening credits. Instead of a boring black screen with names, we're actually getting story development, and it's well executed. The dialogue is nothing Oscar worthy, and there's a lot of explaining, which can be annoying. It also has horror tropes we've seen before, but I like this movie a lot nonetheless. See more TheFilmCritics @TheFilmCritics Sep 2, 2026 Some haunted houses are best appreciated for their architecture, and Thirteen Ghosts makes a compelling case for that philosophy. Its gleaming glass mansion, occult machinery and grotesquely designed spirits—especially the nightmarish Jackal—give the film a vivid visual identity and plenty of pulpy charm. Matthew Lillard supplies manic energy, while Tony Shalhoub brings welcome emotional weight to the family drama. Unfortunately, the human story rarely matches the supernatural spectacle, with thin characterization, clunky exposition and dialogue that often feels engineered to usher everyone toward the next scare. More interested in shock, style and grisly invention than sustained dread, the film can be silly and uneven. Yet its lavish production design and memorable ghosts make this a satisfyingly macabre haunted-house ride, provided you leave expectations of deeper horror at the door. See more Read all reviews
