While it undeniably has a cool premise, the execution feels surprisingly dry in its delivery. The action beats between JCVD and a delightfully unhinged Dolph Lundgren still provide some kinetic thrills, but the stiff pacing and lack of tonal "soul" make it feel more like a relic of its era than a timeless classic. Van Damme's over acting at times or is just showing off his body. I understand that he's supposed to be a cyborg like creature, but his acting performance has been much better in past movies as well as some future movies. The plot and theme seems like a rip off of Terminator, but much worse with a Robocop like rogue robot. The fight scenes are decent, but not spectacular. The chemistry of Ally Walker and Van Damme is probably the best thing about the movie, having a few funny moments that make you chuckle. See more Jeff G @JeDaGi Dec 28, 2025 This movie was exactly what it was supposed to be. A semi Syfy action movie. It wasn't supposed to have great dialogue. I thought that once Dolf snapped out of his brain fog he was pretty comical. All the soldiers were supposed to pretty much act like robots. No it's not the best movie ever made but it's entertaining.
