Trudie Styler's UP AGAINST IT is a compelling and witty maelstrom of unlikely alliances, second chances, and the messy miracle of modern love. Oscar® nominee Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory) and Eva Birthistle (Imagine Me & You) star as co-parenting divorcees faced with a radical proposition when their teenage daughter's future suddenly hangs in the balance. They must reunite for the most unexpected mission of all: having another baby. As egos clash, old wounds resurface, and awkward intimacy gives way to unexpected vulnerability, their desperate plan threatens to reignite feelings they thought were long buried.

When forgiveness comes to the table, it’s fake, forced, and disingenuous. As a result, the final happy-go-lucky dance sequence feels unearned and unbelievable. Go to Full Review Ty Burr Ty Burr's Watch List (Substack) Sep 14, 2026

A painful comedy-drama directed by Trudie Styler that mixes divorce farce, angry-teen-girl theatrics, projectile vomiting and cancer into one glutinous, off-putting mass. Go to Full Review Pete Hammond Deadline Hollywood Daily Sep 22, 2026
