If Asante's idea is that Nazi ideology poisoned bright young minds into viewing their fellow citizens as less than human, the lovey-dovey bond she's pushing as the main event seems even more implausible.

Where Hands Touch still manages to be a well-acted historical drama that depicts World War II from a different point of view. It also retains the same theme of finding your identity that Amma Asante has demonstrated in her previous work.

It is Leyna's relationship with her mother (and her own identity) that is perhaps the most moving aspect of the film. Amandla Stenberg gives a fantastic performance here as a young woman who is struggling to find her place in the world.

Possibly with a different screenwriter, or even a different cast, Where Hands Touch might have been something truly great. Unfortunately, as it is, it's very middle ground fare that neither moves, engages, or informs - it simply exists.

This movie is an emotional and heartbreaking movie, but I still recommend watching it! Though its not a true story, its definitely inspired by many true stories. Im tired of seeing peoples excuses of not liking this movie because it "romanticizes the holocaust" which is not true! This movie brings awareness of what people of color (that might be similar to what the m.c/leyna experienced in the movie) went through. And not just that, also a story about the people, forced to work for corruption (such as the love interest/lutz). And maybe even to modern people that just wants to belong but is so obviously different, this movie tells alot of stories (teen pregnancies, having no father/mother figure, being taken away from your family, being bullied etc.), so its not just about the holocaust. And dare I say, LOVE CAN STILL HAPPEN WHETHER THERES CORRUPTION IN THE AIR!!! I cried so much when Lutz died, this shows that even if you try to choose happiness, something else will sneak up behind you

one of the best movies i've watched, following the great acting, the plot twist it also teaches of the past and has an emotional effect with it's storyline... it deserves a good rating.

I definitely recommend this film. George Mackay is a fantastic actor, as well as the rest of the brilliant cast. The story was heartbreaking and one we must never forget. Please watch this film.

Hands down, one of the best movies I have ever seen. It really makes you think in depth about humankind and the wickedness they are capable of. This movie is a true story and that is one of the reasons why it inspired me to watch it to begin with. Make sure you have plenty of Kleenex on hand because you will need it. I just love this movie, must see!
