Pete (Topher Grace), the quirky, self-deprecating manager of a grocery store, is madly in love with his best friend, Rosalee (Kate Bosworth). Unfortunately, she has absolutely no idea. When Rosalee wins a date with her favorite actor, the smarmy Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel), Pete delays admitting his feelings to her. And when the scheming Hamilton relocates to their small town to pursue Rosalee in the wake of their initial meeting, a horrified Pete must struggle to win her heart.

Tad > Pete. Every day of the week. This movie was probably written by a guy who lost his childhood/high school crush and never got over it. The possessive nature of Pete and his entitlement of Rosalee is infuriating. I actually enjoyed 90% of this movie, but the finale was cliché and frustrating. Not to harp on it too much, but I can't think of a single redeeming quality of Pete's: The six smiles speech was dumb, the carnal treasure line was not funny and he constantly belittled everyone around him. On the other side, Tad was an actually good person who was trying to grow. We need a sequel when Rosalee actually makes the right choice. Best Character: Rosalee Best Quote: "Give me a break, I just lost my wife and my goat.." - Tad Best Scene: When "Why Can't I?" plays when Rosalee goes back into the grocery store. Honestly, such a tender moment.

Mother of all Trumps little children how could anyone think this was good. Every line, every plot move is so utterly predictable and trite, that it's boring and brain dead. Not a single laugh as the writing is so predictable. Just awful. Avoid and save yourself 90 minutes of drivel.
