What's fascinating, heart-wrenching about L'Amour fou is the portrait of Saint Laurent that emerges from archival footage and photographs. If you ever doubted that he was the greatest designer of the second half of the 20th century, you won't after this.

Although the French title means Crazy Love and largely reminisced by Yves Saint Laurent's longtime business partner and lover Pierre Bergé, this documentary about the passions and demons of the French fashion iconoclast is incredibly impassible, stodgy and unilluminating.

Finally caught up with L'AMOUR FOU which actually has very little to do with the crazy love implied by the title. This is a solid very serious and almost elegiacal film about the master Yves Saint Laurent. The film is full of ellipses designed to make you think about fashion, art, wealth, culture, and fame. Little is said directly but L'AMOUR FOU will leave you thinking and talking for days. A really interesting work.

Great documentarie! Absolutely genious! Touching and made me feel part of a fashion movement that didn't really catch me before, til watching this film. I declare myself as a new fan of YSL! For all the reasons shown in the movie and beyond. Precise and with a perfect rythm! A must definetely!!
