Mercy (2026) 24% 1.5/4 EDIT “This may be the first pro-dystopian science fiction film.” – Cambridge Day Jan 26, 2026 Full Review The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) 88% 3.5/4 EDIT “"Ann Lee" is an extravagant, frequently sensuous film about austerity and celibacy, a story of faith and fervor told from a secular point of view. The result, as strange as it is, is utterly entrancing” – Cambridge Day Jan 18, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% EDIT “The Bone Temple is everything a zombie sequel should be: raucous, funny, surprisingly smart, and bloody enough to make you avert your eyes into your popcorn.” – Boston Hassle Jan 16, 2026 Full Review OBEX (2025) 96% 3/4 EDIT “As absurd as it all is, we sense that Birney means every word of it.” – Cambridge Day Jan 15, 2026 Full Review Father Mother Sister Brother (2025) 81% EDIT “It’s not as audacious as some of the filmmaker’s most celebrated pieces, but it remains warm, funny, and altogether lovely. ” – Boston Hassle Jan 9, 2026 Full Review Marty Supreme (2025) 93% EDIT “There is an underlying humanity to Marty Supreme, something that runs deeper than Gems’ film-noir-on-speed nihilism.” – Boston Hassle Dec 24, 2025 Full Review Death Race 2000 (1975) 80% EDIT “If Death Race 2000 is trash, then it’s really great trash.” – Boston Hassle Dec 19, 2025 Full Review The Secret Agent (2025) 98% EDIT “It’s one of the best films of the year, tackling deadly serious subject matter with a wry playfulness which will keep you off balance from its first scene to its last.” – Boston Hassle Dec 17, 2025 Full Review Reflection in a Dead Diamond (2025) 84% EDIT “Reflection in a Dead Diamond is as gleefully hyperbolic as its title, but it is made with more craft and artistry than a dozen 007 epics.” – Boston Hassle Dec 5, 2025 Full Review Jay Kelly (2025) 75% 3/4 EDIT “Even if "Jay Kelly" is an exercise in self-indulgence, it is exceptionally pleasurable and well-crafted self-indulgence, with a playfulness that takes the edge off its maudlin overtones.” – Cambridge Day Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Rental Family (2025) 87% 2/4 EDIT “The film as a whole is suffocatingly saccharine, wringing every drop of pathos with a nonstop, maddeningly twinkly score.” – Cambridge Day Nov 20, 2025 Full Review Wicked: For Good (2025) 66% 2.5/4 EDIT “Where the first film was buoyed by the momentum of Elphaba’s transformation into witchiness, the second remains largely one-note, its characters stuck in a turgid state of conflict and angst, vamping for time until the inevitable denouement.” – Cambridge Day Nov 20, 2025 Full Review Shelby Oaks (2023) 55% 2.5/4 EDIT “The resulting film certainly has its moments, but it’s paper-thin and frustratingly unfocused.” – Cambridge Day Nov 20, 2025 Full Review The Running Man (2025) 62% 3/4 EDIT “It’s madcap pulp, attuned to the times, as Richards steels himself against spiraling poverty, mindless media saturation and masked fascist thugs.” – Cambridge Day Nov 13, 2025 Full Review Die My Love (2025) 74% EDIT “Die My Love is not a horror movie in the strictest sense of the word, but will still likely leave you in a daze.” – Boston Hassle Nov 7, 2025 Full Review Nouvelle Vague (2025) 91% EDIT “No new ground is broken, but to fans of the movement it will be close to irresistible.” – Boston Hassle Oct 31, 2025 Full Review Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025) 61% 2/4 EDIT “For a film about a performer as energetic as Springsteen, “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is strangely dour and listless.” – Cambridge Day Oct 24, 2025 Full Review Bugonia (2025) 88% EDIT “For those on its wavelength, Bugonia is one of the best and funniest movies of the year, nimbly written and effortlessly suspenseful.” – Boston Hassle Oct 24, 2025 Full Review After the Hunt (2025) 37% EDIT “The film is discomfitingly glib in the face of extremely serious subject matter, yet too unremittingly dour to have very much fun with.” – Boston Hassle Oct 22, 2025 Full Review From Beyond (1986) 74% EDIT “From Beyond has never gotten the recognition of Re-Animator, but for my money it’s every bit as entertaining, and far more ambitious as a film.” – Boston Hassle Oct 20, 2025 Full Review Deathstalker (2025) 86% EDIT “I can’t say I laughed as hard as I have at some other Kostanski films, but I had a great big smile on my face from beginning to end.” – Boston Hassle Oct 12, 2025 Full Review TRON: Ares (2025) 53% 2.5/4 EDIT “If one is able to look past the rote human (and cyborg) interactions, they’re left with a pretty great Nine Inch Nails planetarium laser show, and there are far worse ways than that to spend an afternoon.” – Cambridge Day Oct 11, 2025 Full Review Kiss of the Spider Woman (2025) 77% 3/4 EDIT “It’s a tricky role requiring ridiculous humor and utter heartbreak, and Tonatiuh dances across the high wire as easily as Molina’s Hollywood dream avatar. ” – Cambridge Day Oct 11, 2025 Full Review A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE (2025) 75% 3/4 EDIT “It’s a grade-A suspense thriller, even if you find yourself watching with a lump in your throat. ” – Cambridge Day Oct 8, 2025 Full Review Happyend (2024) 98% 3/4 EDIT “The world may be spinning into dystopia, but “Happyend” suggests the kids just may be all right.” – Cambridge Day Oct 4, 2025 Full Review
