“Brothers” follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, and whose lifelong friendship is thrown into chaos when they uncover a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers. After Woody’s daughter’s wedding falls apart, he loads up the family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch. But what begins as a healing getaway quickly spirals when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, accidentally lets slip a long-buried secret that the two friends might actually be brothers. As Woody turns the ranch upside down in pursuit of the truth, Matthew finds himself juggling an entirely different identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas. The result is a heartfelt, chaotic and wildly funny story about friendship, family, fame and the messy line between myth and reality.

It’s a tribute, then, to the charismatic energy generated by McConaughey and Harrelson’s partnership that no matter how hacky some of its sitcom tropes are, Brothers is generally, if never propulsively, engaging. Go to Full Review J. Kelly Nestruck Globe and Mail 6 days ago
The first episode is a little rough in writing and execution, but the second settles into an Odd Couple rhythm. Go to Full Review Nicholas Quah New York Magazine/Vulture 6 days ago
Brothers can be pretty engaging on a galaxy-brain level. Go to Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media 1 day ago

Loose-limbed and lots of fun, this oddball comedy is enjoyable on two levels: it's both an amusing watch and will keep viewers busy online separating fact from fiction Go to Full Review Martín Fernández Cruz La Nación (Argentina) 2 days ago

At times, it becomes undeniable that Brothers operates in a confused manner, failing to develop any of the characters or their conflicts in depth. But none of that matters much compared to the magnetism of its two protagonists. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review George M. Thomas Akron Beacon Journal 2 days ago

Amanda P @mandiepuente 7 hrs ago I really enjoy watching this one. It’s funny and heart felt at the same time. See more Mark B @ferrisbueller 15 hrs ago Painfully unfunny and verging on unwatchable. Such a waste of a funny concept and amazing stars. See more Lee N @ScreenMom 18 hrs ago I've always felt there were not enough comedies out there. This show is unique in its approach with the two leads playing themselves, but with fictionalized storylines — sort of, while making fun of themselves, with references to their real histories. Fun to see them not take themselves too seriously. Have only seen three episodes so far, but I've laughed and find it an enjoyable watch. Look forward to the rest! See more JT M @NoMoreSequels 20 hrs ago The two leads are basically playing amusing caricatures of themselves - and its quite fun No belly laughs yet - but this series could grow into something really fun as it develops. I have high hopes and may want to bump my rating later! See more R T @RT16350461 1 day ago Forced drivel without much thought or cleverness. What a wasted opportunity See more Wayne S @RT89063211 1 day ago These 2 are comedy genius paired together. And Ma Mac is a perfect fit. Haven’t laughed this hard at a show for ages. Hope it continues with the quality writing as well. See more Read all reviews
