Making Love (1981) Rod Hensel Even if it's a flop among general audiences, Making Love is going to have an impact on many closeted gays... It presents, perhaps unintentionally, some fairly probing issues to the gay man watching the film.

A Very Natural Thing (1974) 5th Freedom Staff It really was an honest movie -- how about that folks! Not a putdown, not a patronization, not a caricature, not a pretension, and not a whitewash, a sales pitch, or a syrupy phony tribute to the purity and glory of gay life.

The Boys in the Band (1970) Bruce Greenberg Even with certain expressed faults, Boys in the Band stands as quite possibly the most revealing portrayal of contemporary homosexuality ever to swish on center stage.

Can't Stop the Music (1980) Jim Haynes Sometimes, one goes to a movie with very low expectations, but is agreeably surprised when he leaves feeling happy and exhilarated. Such was the case with Can't Stop the Music.

Funny Lady (1975) Dane Winters I dig Barbara as much as everybody else does, but I cannot tell a lie. I can't say her latest movie colossus, ineptly titled Funny Lady (being neither funny nor ladylike), is great or good or even fair. It's just plain awful and there's no way around it.

That's Entertainment! (1974) 5th Freedom Staff Thanks to "That's Entertainment!" the legacy of MGM lives on for another generation. It captures totally the aura and spectrum of what the musical film was in its finest hour.

La cage aux folles (1978) 5th Freedom Staff There were segments in this superb film that engulf one in laughter and ones that evoke tears, and I experienced both.

Cruising (1980) 5th Freedom Staff Altogether a very bad movie with its many uncertainties as well as nonexistent development of any of its characters.

Taxi Driver (1976) John Young Take a look at Taxi Driver. Hate him, identify with him, turn on to him, and then a real good look at yourself. I dare you.

Partners (1982) Bob Damron A movie that reinforces every negative stereotype of what a homosexual/gay should be, it leaves much to be desired. Even if you take out the token gay theme, it is still terrible.

Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977) Raymond Marseley In a day when some straights are just beginning to suspect that all gay men might not be women-hating freaks, Brooks is reinforcing a negative, stereotypic image of gay men.
