Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) Maria Lattila And against all the odds, Jumanji: The Next Level is great, possibly even better than the previous film. Scrap that, it IS better than the previous film.

It: Chapter Two (2019) Maria Lattila Muschietti returns to the director's chair to craft a sequel that goes bigger and bolder in every sense, while digging deep into It's mythology, and the dynamic between the adult Losers.

The Farewell (2019) Maria Lattila Lulu Wang's The Farewell is a particularly articulate piece of filmmaking. It beautifully captures the sense of alienation of a child of two cultures, and finds warmth and humour in little family moments.

Bombay Rose (2019) Katie Hogan The film itself is beautifully animated, the colour palette dripping in bright and vibrant colours, even in the darkest of moments.

Zombi Child (2019) Katie Hogan Zombi Child easily subverts the typical genre films that surround 'zombies' and is able to overstep elements expected to appear.

4/5
Adoration (2020) Katie Hogan Adoration is anything but predictable, but the story is not about what the characters have done in their past, it is about what the future holds for them and whether they can actually survive in a conventional world, or be let loose on nature.

You Don't Nomi (2019) Katie Hogan The movie is a powerful and unforgettable example of what film criticism really is and that it's not (just) for the filmmakers. It's for the audience, and that is who the film is aimed at. This one is for the fans.

Our Ladies (2019) Katie Hogan The story and characters alone are more than entertaining, as well as the satisfying development of said characters into more than one dimensional stereotypes, as there isn't one in sight.
