3/5
Real (2024) Ankit Jhunjhunwala Presents a broad survey of the current digital landscape, how technology has infiltrated every aspect of the human experience, and whether we might be on the brink of speciation – fundamentally mutating and re-wiring ourselves.

Our Beloved Month of August (2008) Dustin Chang The original story which director had is some cliché summer fling story. But it becomes much more poignant because of the films first 2/3rds. There is fluidity to Gomes's filmmaking that is gentle yet furiously inventive. It's a great film.

Roma (2018) Dustin Chang The beach sequence encapsulates everything Cuarón has been working for - pairing technical virtuosity and universal human decency to a maximum impact. Quietly spectacular, this larger format, digitally shot film needs to be seen on the big screen.

Sophia Antipolis (2018) Dustin Chang Sophia Antipolis examines the seedy underbelly of a shallow modern society, urban isolation and loneliness and human connection. Daring, cerebral and playful, in 16mm shot images, it's one of the most invigorating film experience I've had in a while.
