The Goddess (1958) Zee Newell Any picture dealing with lesbianism is, of course, of special interest to us; but aside from that, this is such an excellent adult picture you shouldn't miss it. The Broadway actress, Kim Stanley, gives a performance that is great.

No Exit (1962) Robin Richards An Argentine-produced movie version, in English, of Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit proves that an excellent motion picture can be made without lavish settings.

La Fuga (1965) Leo Ebreo (Leo Skir) Special credit must be given to Anouk Aimee for rescuing an impossible story through her acting, projecting with spirit and intensity the possibility of lesbian affection.

The Fox (1968) Barbara Grier The acting is superb, as is the photography. The handling of all of the various “controversial” scenes tends to be poignant rather than sensational. The voyeurs will be disappointed, but the lovers will rejoice.

Rachel, Rachel (1968) Barbara Grier This is a small movie, despite its success, and many won't bother to see it, but it is a well-done film, using all of the potential human material in the original source, the novel, and exploiting it without distorting it much.

Persona (1966) Barbara Grier The movie is weird, as are all of [Bergman's], but it is worth seeing -- even twice.

Midnight Cowboy (1969) Alice Kobayashi The movie is a rogues' gallery of sick types, with much local color and little explanation.

The Girl With the Golden Eyes (1961) Robin Richards You will enjoy seeing this superior movie to the bitter end especially because the characters are so well drawn.

The Legend of Lylah Clare (1968) Barbara Grier [It's] time to get fussy about how much crowing we do over just having movies with homosexual themes, and start demanding that the Lesbians and homosexuals portrayed have some resemblance to the real item.

The Group (1966) Leo Ebreo (Leo Skir) The film presents not only a more realistic but a more sympathetic portrait of a lesbian. Many thanks indeed to to skillful Candice Bergen for her tender, human interpretation of Lakey.

The Haunting (1963) Robin Richards The Haunting is a genuine thriller, directed and acted superbly.
