Jelisije J @jjosifovic Aug 25, 2025 The twist absolutely destroys this movie and because of that it goes from a mediocre film to a straight disaster film. See more Alain E @AlainE Jul 28, 2025 So, this movie intriguingly has abysmal ratings here and 4.5/5 on Prime. Roger Ebert declared it the worst movie of the year, probably because he disagreed with the way it handles Catholicism. I thought four fifths made sense and then we had some improbable turns. Not only the priest played by Berenger abandons the church in order to have sex with Daphne Zuniga’s character, but then joins the criminal organization run by his father! Zuniga’s character initially appears to be a well intended girl in love with the wrong man, until she is revealed to be a double crossing monster. At that point the ex priest leaves her to die at the hands of his sister! And so on. See more Michael A @Kinich61 Sep 24, 2024 What on earth is Tom Berenger doing in this movie? He's a good actor though you wouldn't know it if this were your only impression. Such a horribly directed movie, good luck in watching it. See more Primo 1 @Matou Oct 22, 2021 It's one of those so bad but laughable movies, The odious all around acting, mixed with the awful writing. A perfect addition for a future episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. See more Jul 23, 2014 Donald Bellisario has been busy cranking out dull TV product for decades (the sleep-inducing "NCIS" series, etc.) Here, he tosses out, thankfully!, his only movie project ever. Let's all kiss the ground for that at least, okay! This is hilariously awful! It is packed with tons of bad New York stereotypes. It inexplicably features an Irish dude (Berenger) badly trying to pass for Italian. And, worst of all? The impossibly stick-thin Daphne Zuniga is playing Mexican? Really?! Man, this is bad, BAD, B-A-D! And, the "twists" at the end will leave you shaking your head and desperately trying not to laugh. But, you will laugh, and you will laugh hysterically! (did I mention this movie wasn't good?) See more Aug 25, 2013 I like Tom Berenger and I like Daphne Zuniga, but this story about a priest helping to hide witness to a mob hit, and then falling in love with her, was just dumb and boring. Paul Dooley has a bit part, so that's always good and gave the film an extra half a star for me. See more Read all reviews
