Joshua m @Flameon 2d Amish dud. I'd rather get a root canal than watch this again. See more Kathy M @Katmorrow 6d This feels like a Canadian after school special about murder and adultery. I don’t know how this ended up on Netflix, most of their stuff I like. This is absolutely horrible! See more Joe R Jan 19 Based on a true story? This movie is leadened with poor acting, poor script, poor directing. One would better spend their time watching the comics. See more Lucia D @luccicucci Jan 18 The Amish Stud is an absolute must-see film. The eloquence of the script is honestly genius. It handles nuanced and complex characters and topics with Hollywood-level grace. The performance of Barb Ruber from the get-go was breathtaking and truly the work of a seasoned professional. I also have to mention the actors of Eli Weaver’s children. When the little girl said, "I’m so scared, Mommy," my heart broke in half. Truly phenomenal and conveyed a sense of melancholy. Finally, Eli Weaver. The actor was sensational. He really brought to life the trials and tribulations of the real Eli Weaver. His method truly needs to be studied, that’s how amazing his acting is. I love the whole message of the film, especially when the Bishop told the wife that she needed to be a better wife to Eli after he cheated on her multiple times. It is the true model of a god-fearing woman, and I couldn’t be more happier that it is shown in this film. If you’re a film connoisseur, this movie is a masterpiece. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 17 Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story is a restrained, low-budget true-crime drama that takes its time immersing viewers in Amish culture while unfolding a quiet but unsettling murder mystery. The film can feel slow and slightly drawn out, and parts of the screenplay are uneven, but it remains engaging enough to hold your attention. Its strongest element is how it explores the Amish belief system, particularly the idea that justice is left to God, even when something as serious as murder occurs. That tension becomes more compelling once law enforcement enters the picture and an Amish man is forced to move between two very different worlds. While the production clearly operates on a modest budget, it works within those limits rather than against them. The performances are solid, the story is coherent despite a few wonky moments, and the film knows exactly what it is. It’s not great and not bad, just a respectable, watchable crime story you’ll likely enjoy once without feeling ashamed See more Frani D @FranTastic2026 Jan 16 Who knew!! Compelling true story.
