My only grudge is that the English dubbed version leaves the film curiously disembodied, shorn of an all-out heft and impact. It would have packed in a wallop and been better heard, understood, and heeded if it spoke in its forceful original language... Go to Full Review

In conclusion, Argentina, 1985, through a remarkable setting that manages to recreate and transmit the climate of the time, entertainingly narrates one of the most important events in Argentine history. A fact that deserved to be brought to the big screen Go to Full Review

Sue 10/16/2022 Very interesting true story, fine actors See more Peter V 3d The court scenes dominate the second half of the film, while the first half focuses on events outside the courtroom. Although the film has a subtle burn, there is significant gravitas throughout. Ricardo Darin's portrayal of the chief prosecutor is compelling, making his character a definitive presence in the film. His closing statement in court adds depth to his role, revealing his character’s ‘true self’. The score is memorable, and despite a potentially jarring narrative structure at one point, Argentina, 1985 delivers an outstanding cinematic experience from 2022. The film concludes with a judicious verdict, followed by historical facts about the fate of the members of the military government that ruled by dictatorship during the 1970s. While the film does not delve into rehabilitation and reconciliation, it ends on a powerful note, showcasing the triumph of justice over evil. See more A B. @Wilbur130 Jan 12 Fantastic. The dubbed version may lack a bit, but well worth watching, and especially today. See more Gareth v @geewah Sep 1 A respectful and engaging courtroom drama that honors a pivotal moment in Argentina’s history, even if it doesn’t always transcend familiar genre conventions. See more Argyle @Argyle Mar 7 An important story to be sure, I just found it boring in the end, it just seemed to drag on, the main character and his wife are way too mature to have a young son also for reference!
