Two frat bros must become church bros, fast. After one wild night ends in handcuffs and a campus police escort, two best friends are slapped with 120 hours of community service due in two weeks, or they're expelled. Their genius plan? Pose as counselors at a local Christian youth camp, where every sing along, campfire devotional, and trust fall counts toward the clock. Just one problem (okay, three): they don't like kids, they hate camping, and they have barely set foot in a church. Now they'll have to learn the lingo, fake the faith, and hide the flask all while dodging suspicious pastors, prankster campers and the cutest co-ed counselors they've ever seen. Can two party boys lie their way to redemption? Or will their house of half-truths come crashing down before the closing bonfire? Either way, they'd better start praying for a hedge of protection.

It can’t help feeling like something of a zucchini-bread movie: more wholesome than it looks, in the manner of sweet treats devised by parents to smuggle vegetable content into their children, but ultimately less fun too. Go to Full Review Mark Jackson Epoch Times Aug 5, 2026

It’s interesting to see how faith-based films are wading deeper and deeper into the dark side’s dye vat, to attract people who are swimming around in the dark but ultimately looking for the light. Go to Full Review Christie Cronan Common Sense Media Aug 2, 2026

With a refreshing emphasis on the idea of second chances, this is a sincere, heartfelt twist on summer-camp comedies. Go to Full Review Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) Jul 24, 2026

The summer camp shenanigans in "Bad Counselors" are not without sin, which is somewhat surprising given its faith-based origins. And Chris Dowling’s film is all the better for it. Go to Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Jul 21, 2026
A funny, witty and heartfelt fish-out-of-water comedy. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Hannah Aug 4, 2026 I really liked this movie! It was funny but also had a faith filled theme that helped with the comedy! The actors did great as well! See more Martha Jul 26, 2026 I love the humor in this movie. It was a great story, and I loved the characters. I highly recommend this great Christian comedy movie. See more jesse v Jul 25, 2026 college party life = bad, apparently. I wish the story didn't have the religious aspect here. I'd suppose they can't explicitly show the main duo doing hijinks because of ratings. Like all the actors are excellent, but only if there was a non-kid-family story instead especially the main character. Also a couple of editing mistakes here See more Adam Jul 25, 2026 This movie is A BLAST! See more Read all reviews
