Olivia, Lucas and a group of their college friends travel to Mexico for one last getaway before graduation. While there, a stranger convinces one of the students to play a seemingly harmless game of truth or dare with the others. Once the game starts, it awakens something evil -- a demon which forces the friends to share dark secrets and confront their deepest fears. The rules are simple but wicked -- tell the truth or die, do the dare or die, and if you stop playing, you die.

There are some sloppy rules and failed emotional beats, but if you're a genre fan watching Truth or Dare for the clever concept and inventive kill scenes, there's some fun to be had with this Blumhouse release.

Truth or Dare is a supernatural horror/thriller about a group of teen friends who find that the game they played while on break has followed them home and trapped them into playing with fatal stakes. Watch it if you've already seen everything else.

Horrid movie. Don't waste your time. Characters were terrible, basic, bland and so unlikable. It was boring as hell. The kills were not good. If you want to see people with creepy smiles, watch Smile and Smile 2. This was just bad. Got even worse when the main girls dare was to sleep with her friends boyfriend which they gladly do with barely any pushback...oh the horror, I guess they needed a sex scene jammed in somewhere for the kids to laugh at. Lame. Don't bother and save yourself time.

I don't think the movie Truth or Dare has anything incredibly interesting or new, but I also don't think it's bad. It kept me entertained the whole time and at no point did I find it boring. It felt consistent enough to warrant a middle-range rating; it never raises high expectations but there aren't any disappointing moments either. I also don't think it has a high or exaggerated level of violence, which I consider a positive for this film. After watching it I checked the ratings it's received and I think it's another example of why you shouldn't automatically rule out a movie just because it has a lot of bad reviews; I think Truth or Dare is being punished in that regard, or maybe I'm not considering things that other people are. I'd recommend it to people who want to watch a light horror film in the "teen horror" subgenre, which in my opinion competes well with other movies of the same style.
