Jay A @RT92529899 Sep 22, 2026 Bonnie And Clyde is in my top 10 fave movies list. Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway are perfectly cast. I love the scene where Bonnie reads to Clyde the poem she wrote about them. Clyde tells her..."You Made Me Somebody Their Gonna Remember". Daddy & me saw it together in '67 when it came out. Daddy & some of his friends strung a fence line for Bonnie's uncle...true story. Most riveting is the fact that the film is biographical and so the story told is a moral one that stays with you for good. The film and story show that hard times are the ultimate test for one's character. It's easy to be good when life is easy... but when humans are pushed to the brink, our true nature appears. The sensationalization of Bonnie & Clyde's criminal dream turned horror is depicted convincingly, with numerous gut-punches delivered throughout, resulting in an epic slow burn of moral character. Beautiful cinematography, usage of lighting and angles, and editing. A true masterpiece. Driven by electric chemistry between Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, the film effortlessly captures the love, humor, and rebellious fun shared between its lead characters. The screenplay is sharp and engaging, balancing lighthearted banter with exciting heist sequences before building toward its iconic, brutal finale. However, the film's primary flaw lies in its romanticized portrayal of history. By framing the infamous duo as glamorous folk heroes, it glosses over the far darker, unglamorous reality of the actual gang's ruthless crimes. Nevertheless, as a piece of classic cinema, it stands as a fantastic, deeply entertaining experience. But the intro and ending are very memorable. See more James A @Droz27 May 20, 2026 Disappointed in this supposed classic. From the opening scene, I didn't buy Faye or Warren as poor southerners. Their accents were terrible and they were too old for the roles, she looked like a 35 year old moviestar not a 20 year old waitress. Gene Hackman was just as bad, Hollywood actors simply cannot pretend to be street people they have never interacted with irl, let alone southerners. There isn't even a romance between them, just multiple love scenes ending in erectile dysfunction. Nothing feels authentic or realistic, and Hackman's wife is so annoying and looks just like the kid they pick up. See more Johnathon W @Hoppynsc Feb 27, 2026 Classic crime film that redefined Hollywood, thanks to its violent nature and leads who are not quite heroic. Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway are brilliant in the lead roles, playing the criminals with the perfect mix of charm and viciousness (they clearly love being bank robbers, even when the kill cops to do so). Behind the camera, Arthur Penn crafts a brutal crime film that doesn't glamorize Bonnie & Clyde, as they clearly are robbing banks for their own enjoyment and not out of a Robin Hood mentality (despite saying to the contrary). His violence is brutal for the time and even today, since despite their actions, you do care for them in the end, at least to a certain extent. A true classic and a pivotal moment in Hollywood's history. See more Read all reviews
