Critics Consensus

Clerks II dishes up much of the graphic humor and some of the insight that made the 1994 original a cult hit.

The emetic outpouring of buddy love in the last reel deserves the adults-only certificate that the rest narrowly escapes.

Like so many passion projects from filmmakers without much oversight, it often feels as if the cast is having more fun shooting the picture than audiences could possibly have while watching it.

This is a very good film in spurts, and a bizarre, rusted time capsule in other ways.

Badly written, directed and acted, it sheds no light on anything. This is American 'independent' filmmaking at its worst.

A good and nice story to see in Dante and Randal in there next chapter. Not as strong as the first Clerks when it comes to the story but taking off the nostalgia glasses, I still really enjoyed the sequel and had lots of laughs and fun with this film. Always nice to rewatch this one and Chasing Amy.

There's a lot to love with Clerks II. It may not be as good as the first, but it still retains the realistic feel that Kevin Smith incorporates from real-life scenarios involving people.
