Critics Consensus

Diamonds are Forever is a largely derivative affair, but it's still pretty entertaining nonetheless, thanks to great stunts, witty dialogue, and the presence of Sean Connery.

Connery has a ball with great stunts, snappy dialogue and a bevy of typically Bondish beauties. Go to Full Review

Only the British apparently (judging by dozens of unfortunate imitations) can make a crude sex-and-violence formula yield such refined, exhilarating entertainment as this. Go to Full Review

With a sense of lifelessness, Diamonds Are Forever easily is the most boring Bond film. Go to Full Review

Charles 09/07/2022 Not as good as You Only Live Twice, but it’s just as witty and action packed. See more Stephen C @bob25009 3d The worldwide gross is $116,000,000.00. See more Carlos T 4d 🎬 **Crítica | 007 – Os Diamantes São Eternos (Diamonds Are Forever, 1971)** **Ano:** 1971 | **Duração:** 120 minutos 🎞️ **Enredo & História** Em seu sexto filme como 007, Sean Connery retorna após a recepção negativa do longa anterior. Nota:** **6 / 10** See more Joseph H @Jobrakai77 5d Let’s get the good out of the way. The opening scene where Bond gets his revenge for the death of his wife. This is what this movie’s supposed to be about right???? Well 007 looks like he’s just having fun killing him in the beginning and supposedly just forgetting that he was married. This is why I hate this fucking movie. The campy, upbeat tone was not what fans asked for after watching the tragic ending of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Don’t care for the leading lady either. Then it’s later discovered that Blofeld is still alive and in the ending "defeated" but not eliminated. Seriously??? They never should have had Guy Hamilton make this weak ass film, cause he doesn’t take Bond seriously, HE THOUGHT IT WAS FOR THE FAMILY. If there’s one Bond film I love to shit on, it’s Diamonds Are Forever. See more Shawan L @ShawanLLibang Jan 16 Diamonds Are Forever is a cinematic disaster that should have remained buried in the depths of film history. This film is a masterclass in how not to make a James Bond movie. From Sean Connery's lackluster performance to the uninspired plot, it's a cringeworthy attempt at capitalizing on the franchise's success. The action sequences are laughably choreographed, and the special effects are so outdated that they make you long for the simplicity of the 1970s. The so-called Bond girls are forgettable, and the villain, Blofeld, is about as intimidating as a wet noodle. If you're looking for a prime example of a Bond film gone horribly wrong, Diamonds Are Forever is it. Save yourself the pain and watch any other installment in the series instead. This film has a fantastic car chase sequence through downtown Vegas that is exciting to watch. Also we have Blofeld back to his diabolical ways by extorting the international community. There’s two interesting bad guys , Mr. Kidd and Mr Wint, who keep it interesting. Lots of Action , which one would expect in a Bond movie. See more Read all reviews
