Dapper Count Dracula (Leslie Nielsen) relocates from his Transylvanian castle to Victorian London with his slavish assistant, Renfield (Peter MacNicol), in search of new blood. He finds it in a pair of beautiful young women, Mina (Amy Yasbeck) and her best friend, Lucy (Lysette Anthony). Critics Consensus

Lacking any of the comedic bite that audiences have come to expect from a Mel Brooks farce, this vampire parody just plain ol' sucks.

Either this is the lamest Mel Brooks comedy ever or it's too close to other contenders to make much difference.

The only real sparks are set off by MacNicol as Renfield, the solicitor who develops a taste for flies and spiders after being bitten by Dracula.

Brooks, as Van Helsing, is one of the more successful aspects, but he hasn't imbued in his stock company a similar ability to rise above their underwritten roles.

Though it brims with recognizable Brooks film regulars and his signature, lively genre send-ups, his schtick runs a bit dry with this latest production.

A very above par and often funny satire of a horror classic.

This movie is hilarious. Peter MacNicol’s voice as Rennfield gets me every time.

I'm always amazed at how low this movie has been received. I think any Dracula fan must see this movie. It's funny and absurd, but most importantly, it pokes fun at the way Dracula is typically written in a way that is truly hilarious. One thing that I appreciate about Dracula movies and stories is how they present a different version of the same monster. This version of Dracula reminds us that some people might be monsters, but the use of satire can change our perception of them and strip them of their power.

Criminally underrated! Almost as quotable as Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles. Leslie Nielsen is brilliant as Dracula and Peter MacNicol is a hoot as Renfield. The whole cast, including Brooks are absolute crackups throughout. Only a cynical douche (ie film critic) would hate this film.
