But the truth of what they did is concealed from subsequent generations. More than 100 years later, Elizabeth Williams (Maggie Grace), whose family lives in Antonio Bay, returns just as a statue in tribute to the founders is to be unveiled. Critics Consensus

The Fog is a so-so remake of a so-so movie, lacking scares, suspense or originality.

In a world where John Carpenter's The Fog still exists, I cannot think of a single valid reason to watch this.

Never will you wish more fervently for an Adrienne Barbeau cameo, just for old time's sake. Your prayers will be in vain.

The production values are above par, but as in Carpenter's original, seeing ghosts is less scary than imagining them.

(Overall Rating: 2.25/5) (Fair) --- (Cinematography/Atmosphere: 3/5) You can tell this film was at least professionally filmed with some decent effects. The incontinuites between scenes is very noticeable. --- (Storyline/Plot: 1.25/5) There could have been something ok here but there are SO MANY plot holes and events that make absolutely zero sense. There was no complete thought put into what took place. --- (Acting: 2.5/5) The acting was alright, I have definitely seen much, much worse. However, it is nothing to write home about. --- (Character Quality: 1.75/5) They missed on opportunities that could have tied the story together better with these shallow characters. --- (Entertainment Value: 2/5) This film relies on jump scares that weren't effective, there's a bunch of pointless meandering going on. --- (Expectations vs. Reality: 3/5) Ill be honest. I expected this film to be much worse than what it was based on the RT critic score. It wasnt good but it's far from 4% bad

I thought it was quite a good remake a lot different to the original special effects are quite good as well. The fog affects. was more realistic than the original fog affect which were just a smoke machine, I think. I am a massive fan of the original the soundtrack was really good overall I don’t think this was too bad

''Oh~A,,,,,My~A.....God.'' It's downright Scary, SCARY just how utterly Shyte this Fish-boneheaded Movie really is. It's almost as though the Writers/Director/Producers Lost a Bet: where the Losers are compelled to make this Film; doing Everything the Original movie did Right.....WRONG. 0.5/5

The dialogue is cringey, the characters unlikeable and the overall pacing is a sleep-inducing bore. Top that off with lazy jumpscares and a flying ghost knife and you've got yourself a recipe for one truly terrible film. May The Fog (2005) be enveloped by its own thick shroud of fog, so I never have to lay my eyes on it again.
