Critics Consensus

Despite its glossy production and some impressive set pieces, Fountain of Youth can't overcome a derivative and uninspired story that fails to capture the creativity of the countless action-adventure flicks it cribs from.

Audience Says

Should've-could’ve been a cult classic, Fountain of Youth gleams with a sparkling cast, but even their talents can’t add shine to its lackluster tone and forgettable action sequences.

James Vanderbilt’s screenplay flashes some cheeky references (including one about a Vanderbilt) but there are no big surprises to be had here.

Given all the elements involved, Fountain Of Youth should be a blast. That it isn’t is a real disappointment. Maybe best left buried.

It makes you long for the treasure maps that didn't cross the continents but the peaks, ridges and valleys of the human soul.

Mission: physiologically impossible, more like. And it’s exactly the kind of preposterous showboating silliness that has made the Mission: Impossible films such fun over the years.

This brings n amalgamation of previous ideas from other likeminded films together, stripss it of finesse, and homogenizes it into a film you’ll be wondering if you saw it already, even though it just came out.

A group of treasure hunters follow messages on the back of Rembrandt paintings to the Fountain of Youth. This isn’t Guy Ritchie’s best project but it’s better than the reviews.

Entertaining, but ultimately just an average movie that I'm sure I'll quickly forget.

Non-stop fun! One of the only good things on Apple TV. Great cast, great locations, fun story and fast action. John is fantastic and so is the rest of the cast. Even the kid. People complaining that it's not original enough need to relax and go outside. This is a breath of fresh air compared to the boring depressing garbage in most entertainment today.

Portman ruins what could have been fun character banter. But, the characters are very lame and the story is non-sensical. Unless you're 12 and you've never seen any Raiders, National Treasure, Mummy, Lara Croft - or any archeology seeks lost something - then this is for you. Otherwise, it an AI rehash of all those better movies.
