09/16/2009 This a really beautiful three-part documentary with stunning visuals of Gangetic landscapes, and the associated flora and fauna. Worth a watch. It is difficult to say which of the three segments I enjoyed most. I will definitely view this many times before I make a pilgrimage to India. See more 07/26/2008 An excellent and beautiful documentary, but I have to say I am a bit less interested in this particular river than I am in other potential BBC Doc subjects. I certainly enjoyed Planet Earth and Galapagos much more. I would also take Renoir’s The River any day of the week as well. I imagine I would enjoy Ganges far more if I had been to India or focused on it in my work. Nevertheless, it does provide a good overview of many aspects of the river. The third act was definitely the most interesting for me and really made the movie in the end. Soil three miles thick! Crazy. See more Read all reviews
