Grapefruit is a rare, kind film that is character-driven and seems to emerge straight from the soul.

Whenever things get too whimsical, harsh reality comes crashing back in, and both the characters and the filmmaker deal with it in a thoughtful, emotionally resonant fashion.

Chase Joliet’s must-see addiction drama is filled with authentic performances. Rosanna Arquette is the best she’s ever been, and Steph Barkley steals the show.

Solid little indie film, great acting (though slightly awkward at times). The writing and directing were both really good, the story is sweet and delivered nicely. Also, it was great to see Rosanna Arquette again, it’s been too long.

Great acting. Realistic drama. Redemption and change are possible but messy. I really loved this film

Potential unrealized. The script creates interesting dynamics but it meanders and lacks cohesiveness. The performances are interesting though Chase Joilet’s Travis is uneven. Still worth a watch.
