Botev F @Botev1921 Sep 22, 2026 It is without doubt one of the few modern Bulgarian movies that is executed to perfection. It captures perfectly the mood of Communist Bulgaria and the struggles of many people at the time through the eyes of the legendary football player Gundi, whose life is as spectacular as it is tragic. From very modest upbringing to the top of world football and his clash with the communist party, the story is very well presented and despite the long running time, never gets boring. Cinematography is perfect and so is the direction. Even to those who know nothing about Gundi or Bulgaria in the 60s, the story is intriguing and the relationships are well explained.
