Caleb N @Calraptor2617 Sep 20, 2026 Right after watching this for the first time, I was really stuck between the first or this second Hellboy movie as being my favorite. After thinking more, it's definitely this one! Guillermo del Toro has forged a film of massive fantastical proportions, all brought to life with amazing animatronics, vivid colors and cinematography, and golden performances. Whereas in the first movie Hellboy had to learn how to accept himself in the world, in this movie he had to learn who he needed to be for Liz, which is such a great progression of their relationship. I really love the humor in this, maybe more than the first movie's humor. On a side note, Prince Nuada is one of the best villains I have ever seen - cold, badass and determined, but also one you sympathize with and understand on a certain level when you understand the movie's message. The movie has some sad and poignant moments around the relationships within it, which adds so much value to the film. Definitely in my top 15! Then ‘blind’ illogical love takes over. The water head man-fish also jumped in to sacrifice the whole world to save the one he just fell in love with. It’s an illogical love story. Special effects were great but from middle to end of movie the ‘do anything to save my love’ including releasing the immortal golden army onto the world and only Hollywood saved the world right at the end when it didn’t matter coz the ridiculous illogical love for one person outweighs the deaths of countless others. Including them coz how could the villain not know that he will die if his twin sister dies too. He would have captured her with no sharp objects nearby. Sorry but the story line was like that vampire high school students and their werewolf enemies Twilight (top 10 worst tv series in history) See more Solo Dolo K @RT59285916 Jul 8, 2026 Alway's a good classic See more shane O @Shanes_DVD_Shack Apr 27, 2026 I don’t like it as much as the first one , some of the charm of the first film just isn’t in this one . But over all it’s a good movie. The story get a little lost at times. But over all a good watch . I do wish there was a third film to finish the story See more Enrique R. @NostalgicNerd Apr 25, 2026 One of my favorite movies of all time! I love this movie and I’ve seen it 2000 times. Ron Perlman as Hellboy is awesome and he has lots of humor. Same as Doug Jones, man. He is great as Abe, and this might be his best work with Del Toro alongside with Pan’s Labyrinth. But, Guillermo Del Toro does not play, he does great with the editing, the direction, the visuals. The action sequences are well choreographed. The villain was interesting. But, overall, I got to give Hellboy II: The Golden Army an A+ or a 10/10. See more Michael A @Tomato547 Jan 20, 2026 This movie is a great sequel to a somewhat already great first movie! It does well what 1 also does well! Highly recommend it! See more Read all reviews
