In The Grey follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be for anyone else a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception and survival.

Critics Consensus

Pitting together charismatic stars in an underpowered caper, Guy Ritchie's In the Grey is a slick action vehicle whose lack of fresh ideas ultimately put its entertainment value in the red.

A typically bro-y action affair, even with its nominal female lead, this is standard-issue Ritchie: a filmmaker who has found a comfortable niche in the watch-in-the-background streaming era and shows no sign of changing. Does the job.

Anyone who enjoys Ritchie's now-annual adventures can safely surrender to this one, whether in a movie theater now or on a lazy couch-bound Sunday sometime in the future.

It’s a one way ticket to Dullsville. Population: this poor, poor cast.

Thankfully, Ritchie brings his usual slickness to the action: the final act, which is one big chase, is thrilling.

Despite the script's imperfections and the predictability of its structure, the direction and the magnetism of the cast elevate the source material. [Full review in Spanish]

As always, the action sequences are very well shot, but Ritchie’s own writing for this blend of espionage, heist movie, gangster thriller, and action courtroom drama is atrocious. [Full review in Spanish]
