Blind to the fact that it should be rising up against its own formulaic kind. Go to Full Review Peter Debruge Variety Apr 24, 2008
Parise no doubt intends the pic's attention to the disease -- plus animal adoption and fair trade coffee -- to be socially enlightening, but it feels suspiciously like sympathy-mongering. Go to Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Dec 5, 2008

...ultimately establishes itself as an affable endeavor that benefits substantially from the charismatic work of its two leads. Go to Full Review Matt Pais Metromix.com Apr 26, 2008

Achieves the holy trinity of painful earnestness, combining cute animals, sick teenagers and an idealistic belief in love and goodness that's actually deceptively judgmental. Go to Full Review Jules Brenner Cinema Signals Apr 26, 2008

Written, directed, acted-in and produced by Parise, she's proven her creds as a one-woman employment agent. But, by now, she should be picking up that directing is a weak spot. Go to Full Review Sam Sweet L.A. Weekly Apr 24, 2008
More farce might have served the film well; as Parise draws from a playbook of medical melodrama and romantic-comedies clichs, her moral about living outside the box becomes harder and harder to swallow. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jan 21, 2013 I have never seen this movie, but because it contains the words Jack and Jill in it, I hate it. H. A. T. E. It. Destroy it. Now! See more Nov 26, 2012 The charismatic chemistry of the two leads is what holds this film together, a good message, but its been done before and loses the entertainment value along the way. However you can't help connect to the two leads and wish them the best in their pursuits. See more Aug 5, 2012 Freddie was not so great ... Taryn Manning reminds me of a younger Meg Ryan ...just nice See more Jul 30, 2012 It's okay. A bit boring. But, you know, sometimes fun is overrated. :) See more Apr 21, 2012 The two main characters didn't have no chemistry at all. Freddie Prinze Jr. looked good as usual. His love interest was hiddeous. See more Apr 8, 2012 Jack (Freddie Prinze Jr) is a 30-something advertising man, living an urban life of complete routine. He is successful, stylish and completely bored. Then, he meets Jill (Taryn Manning) a fiery, independent and adorable free spirit who enters his life like a hurricane. Jill is the first woman Jack has met who doesn't want to get serious, which makes her perfect for him, and by days end they are roommates. What Jack didn't count on was falling for Jill and with her habit of disappearing for days on end and his suspicions she is hiding a secret he may be forced to face those feelings head on. also stars Kelly Rowan, Vanessa Parise, Robert Forster, Peter Stebbings, Hannah Lochner, Charles Martin Smith and Robin Dunne. directed by Vanessa Parise.
