In a rapidly modernizing American West, LONG SHADOWS is the riveting story of a broken young man, a survivor of tragic violence, torn between his thirst for vengeance and love's redemption, his soul so fractured reality itself is questioned. Dermot Mulroney stars as "Dallas Garrett", a former outlaw living with a life of regrets, who takes a young man, "Marcus Dollar" played by Blaine Maye, under his wing, teaching him the hard lessons of life. Jacqueline Bisset portrays "Vivian Villere", the mercurial Madam and owner of the Purgatory Saloon, a woman who will stop at nothing to manipulate her power. Dominic Monaghan plays "Ned Duxbury", Vivian's longtime conflicted and ambitious assistant, who uses the Purgatory Saloon to hide in the shadows from societal norms of the time.

An oddball addition to a hoary sagebrush genre.... Even fanciers of that dying breed, the Western, will have a hard time finding much to like in 'Long Shadows.'

It's flat characters on an unfinished stage, rehearsing a bad script, with no weight behind any of the odd choices and filming techniques. It wants to be a movie, but it doesn't know how. Just stay on your horse and ride past this one.

…a Western that rings more than a few changes on the traditional format…William Shockley's Long Shadows needed a couple more passes on the script to iron out the kinks, but it’s ambitious fare...has enough novelty to commend it to Western genre fans...
