DaNick S @DaNick Dec 31 Have you ever watched a mystery movie that keeps you guessing all the way through as it builds up until the ending and is so amazing that it caught you by surprise? Well this isn’t one of them. Thirty minutes left till the movie credits and still have no idea what is going on and you get a feeling that you’ve just wasted an hour of your time, but still you keep watching because you believe the ending has got to be magical. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and although the ending was somewhat surprising, the hour and half it took to get there wasn’t worth it. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. The Man with No Past tries to pull off a complex 4-era spanning plot where similar events play out repeatedly. It tries to provide twists. It fails so badly that you can almost enjoy it. It's hard to say the show has numerous plot holes when there isn't enough plot to put holes through, but yeah, there's a steady stream of amateur writing with zero understanding of how anything works, character motivation, or continuity. The basic conceit of the story is that the protagonist has no memory of who he is, but then he does nothing to try to figure that out. Instead, when he wakes up with no memory he drives randomly until he finds a bar somewhere and he has a random vision and then the "plot" happens. He never attempts to find out his past, identity, or anything. Everyone else in the story has equally vague reasons for the stupid choices they make. The actors were ok, the fight scenes were fine, the writing was what you'd expect from primary school. Dialogue is like from a cheesy script of a wanna be romance novelist. Marton Csokas is the only good thing in the movie. His acting is always spot on. If you are very bored then watch it.
