Max Keeble may be fun for kids, but bland and unoriginal for adults.

...I did enjoy [Mr. Belding's] cameo, but that doesn't change the fact that watching the movie is akin to sitting inside a Chuck E. Cheese for an hour and a half. Go to Full Review

Michael J. @MilesJoesph069 20h So today, I watched Max Keeble’s Big Move and my life is now changed forever. Let’s start with what I loved about this cinematic masterpiece, cuz honestly, there’s a lot. Let’s start with Max Keeble himself, the main character. This boy is one of the greatest film characters of all time, up there with Michael from The Godfather. His redemption arc is better than Will in Good Will Hunting. Watching his character grow throughout the film, is a truly cinematic experience. His friends are charming too, in fact, every character in this movie is awesome, from the Andrew Tate crypto kid, to the teacher from “That’s My Boy,” to the girl he likes where “Baby one more Time” plays every time he comes on screen, to most importantly, the bully. The bully is truthfully an expertly written character. His backstory is tragic, and honestly, plays a lot into Keeble’s redemption arc. But I think the best part of this movie was the villain, the principal. The way he’s so comically evil, and acted to perfection. Along with the Icecream man he had beef with, to Tim Hill, the greatest director of all time, crafting every scene. For stuff I didn’t like, there really wasn’t anything, although if Don Cheadle was in it, it would’ve been better. Overall the greatest film I’ve ever seen. 10/10 See more Jacob B Jan 10 One of Tim Hill's better directorial efforts (at the very least, this film does have more of its own identity much like his previous film Muppets from Space), Max Keeble's Big Move is cheesy, a product of its time and even a little creepy (Max has a crush on a teenager, with implications of it not being one-sided). Also, Disney spoiled the big twist in the synopsis. And yet, this is still an amusing slapstick comedy with memorable scenes, a diverse cast of characters (I can see where the "Nick in Disney clothing" comments come from; then again, Tim Hill does have history with SpongeBob), Larry Miller stealing the show and some surprisingly resonant themes about the cycle of bullying and learning that you reap what you sow. Okay, the film doesn't dwell THAT deeply but there's still something here that helps me see why this film has its fans. Kids will probably like it more than adults but given the low bar this director's later films would set, this is still a harmless watch for them. See more Max K Oct 14 The best film ever made.
