Beautifully acted, it's a tender love story with one or two belly laughs. Go to Full Review

Pretty good performance, awfully lame movie. Go to Full Review

Had first-time director Keith Bearden been as devoted to keeping Meet Monica Velour on track as he did to coming up with punderful porn flick names, he could have had a satisfying dark comedy on his hands. Go to Full Review

From a plot standpoint, there isn't much that's remarkable about it, yet its two central figures are so honestly drawn that they make up for any predictability along the way. Go to Full Review

Blessed with a promising concept for a dark comedy, "Meet Monica Velour" would rather tug heartstrings or script repetitive behavior from derivative characters. Go to Full Review

Enjoyable coming-of-age comedy drama with an engagingly off-beat script, some appealing production design and two terrific central performances from Kim Cattrall and Dustin Ingram. Go to Full Review

mark g @Mark_Alan_G. Oct 16 The character Tobe is so uneven and unbelievable in so many scenes that the movie becomes strained. In the end, not that strong of story and cliched See more Zane J Apr 7 At once wonderful and beautiful with incredible acting and a sentimental story and a hopelessly depressing look at the nuances of pornographic American life. My only real complaint was that the ending was overly long and melodramatic, erasing an element of the emotion established by Monica and Tobe's heartbreaking romance. See more 06/18/2018 Extremely low budget Indie about a teenager in love with an aged former porn star. While occasionally reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite, "Meet Monica Velour" is much more serious, even in its dark humor. While it isn't a bad movie, it isn't particularly good either. The performance of Kim Cattrall is actually pretty good and a welcome change from her "Sex and the City" typecast she's been saddled with the past decade. Yeah, this film may not seem like much of a departure from the type of character she's been playing for a long time, but it did give her a chance to be more raw and serious. Definitely worth watching at least once. See more 06/02/2018 Not a bad idea but fairly slow. See more 11/17/2014 Meet Monica Velour: What a weird, contrived and ultimately sweet movie. Circumstances lead Tobe, a bad "Napoleon Dynamite" knockoff, to rural Indiana, where his vintage porn star crush now resides in a trailer. Yes, the premise is ridiculous, but Tobe's goofy likability and Kim Cattrall's spot-on portrait of a down-on-her-luck, washed up porn star is so jaw-droppingly good, and the film's last 20 minutes so charming, that it delivers the perfect happy ending.
