07/25/2020 Rough writing, thin plot. See more 02/18/2018 Rather dull and monotonous, Menorca is a character drama about a woman going through a midlife crisis. The story follows a soccer mom named Claire who abandons her family and takes up a hedonistic life as a waitress at a strip club. Claire is kind of an interesting character and even somewhat sympathetic; trapped in a life she didn't want and feeling disconnected from people. And Tammy Gillis gives a fairly strong performance. But the plot doesn't really go anywhere and Claire doesn't really change or have any transformative revelation. Despite a promising start, Menorca ends up being pretty pointless.
