Ten years ago, an inexperienced coal miner named Tom Hanniger caused an accident that killed five men and put a sixth, Harry Warden, into a coma. A year later, on Valentine's Day, Harry woke up and murdered 22 people with a pickaxe before dying. Now Tom has returned home, still haunted by the past. And something else is back in Harmony: a pickaxe-wielding killer in a miner's mask, who may be the ghost of Harry, come to claim Tom and his friends.

Critics Consensus

This gory, senses-assaulting slasher film is an unpretentious, effective mix of old-school horror stylings and modern 3D technology.

My Bloody Valentine has lously gender politics for a slasher movie, and that's both disappointing and disconcerting because the film has probably made enough money to merit a sequel and inspire other 3D horror movies. Go to Full Review

In the end, the movie is a true blood-splashed valentine to fans of the cheesy genre that spawned it. Go to Full Review

My Bloody Valentine 3D doesn't have nearly enough fun with either its jazzy technology or its inherently campy premise. Go to Full Review
Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review 12/15/2023

The movie provides a few hearty laughs, a profusion of nonsensical stupidity, and plenty of so-bad-it’s-good moments to entertain viewers in the back row, whispering to each other about the inanity of it all. Go to Full Review
Stephanie Archer Film Inquiry 02/18/2023
This film may be a remake of the 1981 classic but it creates its own identity, carving out its own place within the horror genre Go to Full Review

Solving the crime and cheering on heroes is something of a lost cause, as most of the roles are just unintelligent enough to inspire disgust. Go to Full Review

spencer f @perfectdeerpelt 6d ive watched this movie about ten times in one year. one of my most favorite things ever and the low budget makes it even better (i LOVE low budget movies...not too sure why) also i really love harry warden. harry warden hmu please. please. the story is a bit weird to follow at first but after a few rewatches things make sense i think. yeah. also i love the low exposure they use in certain scenes im a sucker for dim lighting. i like the random amounts of blood thrown around. someone had fun doing that i bet. i love harry warden a lot. and my bloody valentine but i also love harry warden. How did this get passed? But overall, terrible remake. I'll stick to the original thank you. It's much more chill.
