The object of the producer of No Man Of Her Own has been, apparently, to parade Clark Gable once more in his familiar role of an irresistible lover, for the story which this picture tells falls to justify Its existence on any other grounds. Go to Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Apr 20, 2020
The dialogue slackens after the first half hour, but the stars have some fine comic moments together, and the intimate precode encounters are pretty sexy. Go to Full Review Variety Staff Variety Mar 26, 2009
It is largely the good cast, direction and some of the comedy arising mostly out of the wisecracks that makes No Man of Her Own acceptable film fare. Go to Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills Oct 10, 2020
Gable was a fast-rising star whose swagger easily dominates here... Go to Full Review E. de S. Melcher Washington Star Apr 20, 2020

Here again is a story of merit presented by artists who know their work. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

bruce F @bruce999 Aug 14, 2026 enjoyable dialogue. it's worth a look, for they were married in real life. See more Stephen C @bob25009 May 29, 2025 A failed comedy in 1 hour and 25 minutes!!!!!!!!!! See more Steve D @RT35616104 May 4, 2023 A bit sexist but the actors make it worth your time. See more Oct 7, 2015 good pre-code rom-com-dram See more May 5, 2015 Totally unremarkable, but charming nonetheless due to star power. See more Aug 7, 2014 The first half of this movie is very good. Clark Gable and Carole Lombard - who would later become one of Hollywood's most glamorous couples - worked together for the first, and sadly only time. Their chemistry is great, as is the supporting cast. Unfortunately, 'No Man of Her Own' reverts from energetic comedy to being a rather conventional romance in the second half, and the ending is rather abrupt. See more Read all reviews
