Given the terrific setup, the rather lackadaisical ending is flat. Still, the performers have a lot of fun getting there.

With a judiciously executed hip-hop soundtrack and the same anti-conformist spirit that informs Judge's TV cartoons, "Office Space" can expect to attract people who aren't even old enough to be stuck in dead-end jobs.

Imagine a live-action version of Dilbert, or In the Company of Men reconceived as a lighthearted romp, and you get the idea of Office Space, the auspicious live-action debut of Mike Judge.

Office Space may have disappointed at the box office in 1999 but as the film turned 25 years old, it's clear why it was able to attract a cult following.

Mike Judge’s film’s real target was capitalism, even if it never quite said so (25th anniversary)

A very fun satire filled, funny movie. For anyone who’s ever worked in a corporate environment it really hits home.

Office Space continues to age into a workplace survival guide. Mike Judge’s deadpan satire skewers cubicles, pointless meetings, micromanagement, and corporate drudgery with an uncanny sense of recognition. Ron Livingston brings easygoing charm to Peter Gibbons, while Gary Cole’s cheerfully maddening Bill Lumbergh and Stephen Root’s unforgettable Milton provide much of the film’s comic ammunition. Its understated humor and sharp observations about burnout and finding meaning beyond a paycheck give the movie surprising staying power. Still, the loose, sketch-like plotting and overly convenient ending keep it from being a perfectly constructed comedy, while some dated office details may land less strongly with younger viewers. Even so, its themes remain remarkably universal—and perhaps more painfully funny the longer you’ve worked behind a desk.

This one ages well, even after nearly 30 years. Lots of quotable one liners for the modern office place.
