Critics Consensus

Resident Evil: Extinction is more of the same; its few impressive action sequences unable to compensate for the pedestrian plot.

[Resident Evil: Extinction] looks as if it has been lifted from the same genre of films.

A Western-tinged adventure whose innovations are so scant that the only things keeping the enterprise afloat are clumsy references to its predecessors.

Russell Mulcahy of Highlander fame ensures that production values are strong even if logic is weak and the script sounds like it was written on the back of an envelope.

Unless you are a fan of the first 2 or of the video game I really don’t see any reason for you to spend your hard earned money.

It blends the zombie and post-apocalyptic genres in a reasonably interesting way, and benefits from Mulcahy's well-rehearsed filmmaking style.

Always loved the desert setting, and the infected are mean as hell, this time around. Some of the plot choices are a bit wonky and weird, but the zombie-killing scenes are a bunch of fun. 7/10

Pretty good as a matter of fact, the makeup is better and the fight scenes are somewhat exciting. I think this is as good if not a little better than the second movie.
