See more Justin T @RT08580778 Jul 2 The autopsy is horrible and basically only serves to be gory. The way the series is overcut and has such wild camerawork is starting to become annoying. I don’t like the new cast members and the story is uninspired at best. The detective stuff is dull. We didn’t need the origin story stuff but I guess it means we get more of John Kramer so okay. The traps are fun but not as memorable as the previous films. Pretty disappointing overall offering nothing new. Wasn't a fan of the frenetic editing. Other films had it but this was just overkill. It also jumps around a lot without smooth continuity and wasn't the easiest to follow. I'm not saying it wasn't necessary, but it's not very rewatchable or memorable in my opinion. It just gets too convoluted to me at this point, and you can tell this is where the original writers dropped off. What makes this film work is that it doesn’t just rely on blood and shock value. It also creates a deeply uncomfortable atmosphere that makes the audience feel trapped right alongside the characters. The movie brings back that vulnerable feeling the series is known for, where every trap feels horrifying because you can imagine yourself in those situations. That is what gives it such a disturbing edge. Tobin Bell once again delivers a strong performance, keeping Jigsaw compelling and giving the story weight beyond just the violence. His presence is a huge reason why the franchise continues to work.
