CC Aug 12, 2022 Refreshing and captivating See more Andie Aug 1, 2022 I thought that this was a very current, relevant, relatable, and honest coming of age during a pandemic story. The characters were very well developed and the music was great too. See more MB Jul 30, 2022 Hilarious in many and unexpected ways with strong performances by a well cast ensemble. Froseth leaps off the screen and Bernthal is perfectly (and yet loveably) cringy. Dunham uniquely captures porn through a female lens - and thanks to Speedman, I want a Vance LeRoy sequel! See more KKate T @RT04270665 1 day ago Sharp Stick is a coming-of-age story about learning to understand yourself instead of living to please others. Sarah Jo’s exploration of sexuality and relationships is ultimately about discovering what she wants and learning that her own needs and desires matter. The film also shows how heartbreak can become an opportunity for self-exploration. Sarah Jo makes mistakes and experiences disappointment, but those experiences help her better understand herself. Rather than relying on another person for validation or fulfillment, she begins to recognize the importance of being comfortable with her own identity and desires. Overall, Sharp Stick explores the messy process of growing up, finding yourself, and learning that pleasing yourself—not always other people—is an important part of becoming your own person. This story provides a realistic portrayal of a young woman’s sexual development without stigmatizing her experiences. Instead, it empowers her to make choices.
