Kevin R @RT75408318 Sep 18, 2026 Awful slow dreary film. Stupid plot with unexplained twists. It all hinges on a book written by the father and we are meant to understand the whole of the book by a brief look at 2 of the pages, believe that a rabbit can come back to life and other rrubbish What a load of nonsense See more Jordan P @Jordanflickmaster Aug 17, 2026 They really like to make these films slow and boring. Trauma is the main theme...AGAIN! They need to come up with some new formulas because these films are as bland as they get. So boring, I couldn't even focus. Next thing I know the kid somehow dies, there's like ghost or something, and then frankenstein's monster with the prince charming haircut is growing a jack rabbit. What? See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom May 30, 2026 Starve Acre is a fantasy horror that leans heavily into atmosphere, and it manages to be surprisingly unsettling throughout. Even when it appears calm on the surface, there’s an underlying sense of dread that never really fades. What makes it stand out is how it blends folklore-like fantasy elements with a slow, creeping sense of terror. It doesn’t rely on constant shocks, but instead builds discomfort through mood, sound design, and unsettling imagery. The performances help ground the story, making the strange events feel more personal and emotionally charged. That balance between grief, mystery, and supernatural unease is what keeps it engaging. Overall, it’s a pretty terrifying experience for a fantasy film, but also an enjoyable one if you appreciate slow-burn horror with emotional depth. I’d rate it an 8/10 for its atmosphere and ambition. See more Neil H @Uncan Jan 31, 2026 The very bleak and sparse nature of the film in its 70s setting builds at a slow place to provide a very unsettling atmosphere of complete dread. Stellar acting performances and thoughtful effects provide the added spice resulting in a modern take on the British folk horror genre. See more Si R @SiRobins Nov 12, 2025 I enjoyed this film. I’d give it a 7/10. I loved the slow pace, the atmosphere and the story. I liked the animatronic hare. It was creepy and harked back to old moving making methods including stop go animation. I’d like to see more films like this. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 Nov 1, 2025 Another intangibly bland, eerily built “horror” on folklore that tackles on grief with maddening numbness through the gradually soulless, disconnected performances.
