Critics Consensus

For audiences seeking a dose of high-concept yet undemanding action comedy, Tag might be close enough to it.

There are women in the film, but none has anything you could call a personality.

A sweet central premise and a charismatic cast curdle into repetitious overkill and "gay panic" gags.

It's all a bit more sad than what you'd expect from a film with an extended set piece discussing the horrors of punches to the butt. It's a feeling that is unfortunately replicated in the film's cast.

If you're a fan of physical humor and a lot of raunchy jokes, you'll probably appreciate this film.

Despite some funny antics along the way, the viewer feels like an outsider looking in at people who are clearly having more fun than we are watching them.

The jokes don't always land but when they do they sure are hilarious. A brilliant cast especially the male actors work perfectly off each other. Isla Fisher gives a memorable turn as well. A comedy where you can just sit back, relax and enjoy.

How you get such a quality cast together, for such a terrible script, is mind-boggling.

Tag is a lighthearted comedy with a simple premise. Most of the laughs come from physical comedy, but there's some good dialog and style. It's not meant to be cerebral. If your ideal comedy style is Frasier or Black Adder and you despise something like Home Alone, this is not for you.

This movie isn't "smart" enough for people that fake intelligence. It was fun, lighthearted and original. Had some decent laughs and was significantly better than I expected.
