In the remote woods of North Carolina, a blind teenager named Solomon lives by himself in total isolation. Despite his impairment, Solomon is able to navigate his surroundings by tying a long rope around his waist that stays tethered to the cabin where he lives. Armed with only his tether, Solomon survives by fishing, foraging, and trapping small animals for food. His only other stimulation is a tape recorded message containing three mysterious rules: The First Rule: When you hunt or scavenge, do it for two--one for the forest and one for you. The Second Rule: When your will is almost gone and you feel like giving up, find comfort in singing our song. The Third Rule: You must never, ever let go of the rope.

Robinette is by no means a terrible filmmaker, but there is nothing of interest visually here, no moments of tension or dread, simply repetitive shots

A good idea for a short film, stretched threadbare in order to reach feature length.

Tethered has a well-conceived premise and the film achieves what it sets out to accomplish, but ultimately falls short of greatness.

The underlying mood here is far more engaging than the story itself ... but eventually, the latter takes over this small, low-and-minor-key horror tale.

Tethered starts strong with a clever premise. The film then dramatically loses steam as time progresses and a new character is introduced. The building mystery has a predictable resolve with few surprises.

Raised and then abandoned by his protective mother, a blind boy lives alone in a secluded cabin in the woods. He unexpectedly befriends a hunter and together they will face a mysterious creature lurking in the dark. "Tethered" reminds us that sometimes our personal growth implies leaving behind what we were raised to believe. The creature is an extension of the boy's grief, inviting him to break the rules that no longer serve him. Except for its relevant message, the movie is forgettable in a blink of an eye!

Regardless of the bad reviews this movie seemed to garner, I thought it was a decent movie, not your typical horror film, but a good story indeed.

This is not a shit your pants type of horror film. It's more of a "I forgot to wipe, because I am anxious to get back to the movie" type of film. It is engaging and creepy. The acting is excellent, and score is haunting. The story is unique but not preposterous. I invite everyone over to my house to watch it.

Intriguing , atmospheric and suspenseful despite the slow pace. , Very well directed with great photography. Sometimes less is more ! Surety justifies a "Rotten tomatoes is wrong " segment.
